Bachelor's of Science in Specialized Chemistry with a Minor in Anthropology Master's in the Art of Teaching in Secondary Science

Miss Trausch

Graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Chemistry and a Minor in Anthropology and National Louis University with a Masters in the Art of Teaching with a focus in Secondary Science.

After college I volunteered through Amate House, the young adult volunteer program of the Archdiocese of Chicago.  My site was a Catholic gradeschool where I was a middle school science aide and a preschool aide.  I worked a variety of science jobs before deciding to go back to school to become a high school teacher.  While in grad school at National Louis University I subbed at St. James Grade School in Arlington Heights.  I then taught at Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein - where I taught multiple levels of Chemistry and Physics.  This is my third year at St. Joseph High School.  I will be teaching Chemistry and Earth Science.  I have also taught Anatomy and Physiology, Physical Science, and Pre-Algebra here and Physics at my previous school.

As you can tell by the picture, I was invited to be a part of the 2020 Jeopardy! Teacher's Tournament.  I had a lot of fun taking part in that in February 2020 - before the world got so crazy!  All of the teachers in the tournament have stayed in touch, especially during quarantine.  We've even been hosting our own trivia nights via Zoom!
